The English-Speaking Union is an international charity founded in 1918.
It promotes English as a common global language to nurture dialogue, exchange ideas and opinions, enhance global understanding and cooperation.
The ESU brings together and empowers people of different languages and cultures. By building skills and confidence we give young people the opportunity to realise their potential.
The ESUs world-wide operate as non-political, independent associations, which are fully affiliated to the ESU-International, based in London.
The Public Speaking Competition is one of the largest activities of ESU worldwide. It brings together the best young speakers from all over the world for a week of international cultural exchange.
The purpose of this annual competition is not only to showcase the very highest standard of public speaking by young people from around the world, but also to give the students an opportunity to understand each other’s different backgrounds and cultures.
The ESU’s International Public Speaking Competition started 29 years ago.
IN BELARUS IT EXISTS SINCE 2007.
