Useful information that will be told: * Introductory information to writing essays (for an exam or for your own purposes) * Some guidelines on how to write an essay for exams, being limited in time. We'll try to think of ideas for an essay. To discuss and to practice: * We will take some sample essays, criticize them and try to estimate their scores on the 0-6 scale. * Then we will try to analyze an arguments, trying to find logical flaws in them. At the discussion, we will give you the following material on paper. But better if you, guys, read them beforehand. What are issue essays and analytical writing. Issue Essay is when you are given an issue, for example "It is a grave mistake to theorize before one has data.", and you need to write an essay on this.
