With her unusual voice that is full of strength and expression, Joana Zimmer undoubtedly belongs to the most talented German up-and-coming artists. Her first single "I Believe (Give A Little Bit...)" immediately made it to Top 10 in the charts. Since then, interest in the twenty-four-year-old, who has made Berlin her home, has not stopped increasing. Her debut album "My Innermost" satisfies through thoughtful ballads and exciting pop songs and really shows the amazing energy Joana Zimmer can release in her music. She moves and touches the listener. And so it is hardly amazing that her debut album immediately soared to Top 5 in the German charts. Meanwhile Joana has become one of the most successful national artists of the year 2005, and both her debut single "I Believe (Give A Little Bit…)" and her album "My Innermost" were honored with Gold Awards. Those were accompanied by receiving the German Radio Award and the Radio Regenbogen Award (both for "Best Newcomer 2005") and nominations for the VIVA Comet Award and the Echo Award (Germany´s "Grammy"). "My Innermost" and "I Believe (Give A Little Bit)" were both released throughout Europe and entered the sales charts in Switzerland,Austria,France and Sweden. Her amazing duet "Let´s Make History" with spanish superstar David Bisball took spanish radio by Storm and peaked at # 5 in their Radiocharts. Born in Freiburg, she grew up bilingual in the U.S. and the UK and moved to Berlin many years ago. Since she was a child, Joana Zimmer has dedicated herself to music. The vocal training she had while a member of the renowned Berliner Choir influenced her musical path. At the age of fifteen, Joana Zimmer had already performed in various popular jazz clubs in the city and continued to work on the impressive facets of her voice. On her own, she organized performances in clubs and prestigious hotels, modeled and saved her earnings for her first demo. The record contract with Universal Music Domestic meant the great opportunity to work with famous producers and songwriters. Burt Bacharach, Andreas Carlsson (among others, Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys), Gary Barlow and Nik Kershaw were immediately fascinated by Joana's talent and personality and contributed songs to "My Innermost." Joana Zimmer worked in the studio on most songs with the Swedish producer duo Pontus Söderqvist and Nick Nice (LaCarr Studios), and during the recording sessions, she impressed the producers with the unique power of her voice, her passion and her complete professionalism. Currently Joana Zimmer has released her second album "The Voice In Me", on which she again recorded songs from world known writers like Desmond Child, Rick Nowels,Burt Bacharach,Andreas Carlsson,Marcella Detroit and many more. "The Voice In Me" just entered the german salescharts at # 22 , media and fans quote her to be Germany´s most promising young female artist, with the potential for an international carreer. At the moment, Joana is rehearsing for her Live-Tour , to be premiered in 2007: another challenge in taking the next step. Next to music Joana decided to become Goodwill Ambassador for the Christian Blind Mission and meanwhile travelled Kenya (Africa) to help disabled people. On her fundraising tour Joana played charity concerts, visited hospitals and met with local doctors, politicians as well as the German Ambassador to talk about upcoming projects.
