Wednesday,Nov.28th,7:00pm.Mayakovsky Library ,American Corner. 46 Fontanka Embankment. The Shakespeare Theatre Laboratory of the Mayakovsky library’s American Corner will perform William Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra.The performance will be given in the original Elizabethan English. Hollywood has called Antony and Cleopatra the Greatest Love Story ever told:Roman Empire triumvirs,Mark Antony,Octavius Caesar and Aemilius Lepidus struggle for dominance.Mark Antony is passionately allied with,Cleopatra,the aspiring Queen of Egypt.Caesar sets up Antony by appealing to his insatiable desire for women. Under the stage-direction of American,Mr.Michael Ferraro the play will be performed by Professional Russian actors-the Lab has attracted actors from Lenfilm and various theatres in the City;along with Language students from some of the City’s elite English Language programs.
