Slamming Brutal Death Metal is a sub-genre of brutal death metal, it was officially established in 1995 when Internal Bleeding coined the term on their first album Voracious Contempt. The genre though had been going on for awhile but was not officially named slam death metal until after this album was released. The genre emphasis on the ‘mosh’ parts of each composed song with a breakdown then a dragged slam, which is often in D minor or lower. The vocals are more focused and inhale/exhale from the gut (aka Gutturals) with the guitars before fairly straightforward in the forefront of the song.
