About iain archer Probably best known for bands I used to be in and songs I worked up with mates in cold, damp Glasgow rehearsal rooms that turned out to be anthems. It all was, and still is a great deal of fun, I say with my hand firmly on my chest. Before that I'd played guitar in a bunch of Belfast bands until I left uni, moved to Glasgow and made two solo albums totally in thrall to people like Joni Mitchell and John Martyn, but which unsurprisingly fell a world short of those dizzy heights. So I took a breather, moved to London and ended up working in a homeless hostel for a while. Some collaborations were enough to tempt me back into the music fray - working with The Amazing Pilots, Fionn Regan, Jacob Golden, and Snow Patrol to name a few. I spent some time as a member of the latter, and am still known to show up every now and then. All of that got me me back into the idea of making my own record again. Soon 'Flood The Tanks' was born and its follow up in October '07 'Magnetic North'. Some people said some nice stuff below, I didn't touch a word of it i swear...
