Camp leadership seminar 28.11.2008

CAMP LEADERSHIP SEMINAR Educating young leaders on how to run an environmental summer camp November 28: Finnish nature league Luonto-Liitto and Russian environmental NGO Friends of the Baltic hold a day-long seminar, where all young people, interested in environment and leadership, are wholeheartedly invited. The goal is to educate young people about how to successfully plan and run an environmental summer camp and maintain its activities. The seminar will take place at St.Petersburg Ecocentrum (Sadovaya Metro station, per. Grivtsova 10, room 5) from 10-30 until 17-00, meals included. All presentations and discussions will be held in English, so a good command of it is necessary! The seminar will focuse on such aspects of organizing a camp as: -finding the idea (the target) for the camp -how to develop a program for the camp -how to plan the budget -how to keep things going the way you want it -sharing good practices -etc. The participants of this seminar are welcome to join the discussion about the future international environmental summer camp that will take place this coming summer, with a possibility to play an active role in it’s organization. We kindly ask participants to prepare a short 3-5 minutes presentation of good practices related to environmental education or other arrangements they have had on a camp to share with others.
