3rd Annual Russian and International Student Education Network (R.I.S.E.N.) Topics related to: Art, Music, Sports, Culture and Environment, Relationships, Careers, Science and Spirit After a great show of people for the first event on Oct. 4th and a surprise visit and short speech by the British Lord Alan Watson, this Saturday Oct. 18th will be the second R.I.S.E.N. event of the semester. The goal is to provide a place for students and recent graduates to meet one another and to communicate on topics and themes close to young peoples' lives in St. Petersburg. Once again it will involve ice-breakers, small group discussions, songs, trivia questions, games, prizes and a few new additions as well. Please feel welcome and invite your friends to come (especially foreigners to help balance the numbers)! The theme for this Saturday's meeting will be 'How intertwined is our world?' With questions about the global economy, recent elections in several countries, including Russia and on the heels of the Beijing Olympics and the theme 'One World, One Dream,' maybe we are at a suitable time to ask if people around the world depend on each other a lot or not very much at all. Hopefully the theme will be inclusive for all people who would like to participate. As with the previous R.I.S.E.N. event, we will also have a Quest for those who prefer to deeply engage the topic.
