The four-piece formed in late 2005 amongst the flourishing post garage rock revival Sydney music scene. 2006 saw the band tour Australia with The Strokes, record with Dave Sitek from TV on the Radio, & sign with Capitol Records in the US. 2007 saw the band part ways with Capitol after the company’s merger with Virgin, tour with The Pixies, Editors, Cut Copy & The Horrors and play at the Sydney and Gold Coast legs of the first V Festival (Australia). Somewhere amongst all this Mercy Arms’ first release Kept Low EP was also recorded & released September 2007 on Levity in Australia, to much critical acclaim. Now, their self-titled debut album, recorded in January 2008 & produced by Tony Cohen is due for Australian release August 2008. http://www.myspace.com/mercyarms
