The UNCLAIMED GARAGE PUNK REVIVAL LEGENDS! The Unclaimed washed ashore on the California coast in a mystic tide from 1966. They'd been together since 1979 as a five-man sound attack in black turtlenecks. The Unclaimed consisted of the mysterious Shelley Ganz (vocals, rhythm guitar), Rich Coffee (lead guitar, organ), Ray Flores (bass) and Matt Roberts (drums). This line-up has developed their style and sound to an authentic representation of the great garage bands we all love. They sound like an evil potion consisting of Count Five, the Caravelles, the Electric Prunes, the Chocolate Watchband, the Combenashuns… You get the picture - raw cryptic sound! Their image, though, has caused them some problems in LA. For example, some squares with crewcuts took offense at their cool hair and clothes and threw bottles and verbal abuse at the Unclaimed. I guess those dorks didn't know what cool is! [From "99th Floor #4" Spring 1983] - The UNCLAIMED disbanded in 1987, not very long after Coffee, Flores and Roberts left to form THEE FOURGIVEN. - Before they disbanded The UNCLAIMED also recorded one great LP under the name ATTILA AND THE HUNS, which was finally released a few years later.
