Our Bible Study (ИКС)

Hi Everyone, As you all know I’ve wanted for many years to come over to Moscow, work with New Generation, and spend time with you guys at IKS. Besides helping you with English and whatever else would have been useful, I always wanted to lead a group in studying the Bible together. You know that New Generation is a Christian organization, and it is always our desire to teach the gospel and principles of God’s word in the activities that we organize. Well, the situation which has prevented me from moving there so far (the bad real estate market in America) doesn’t seem to be getting any better. So it may still be a while yet before I come. But I have been thinking that since all of you are here in Vkontakte, there is no reason why we can’t begin a study of the Bible right here—in russian and/or english. When I speak of studying the Bible, I mean to really dig in to it. We can talk about the theology, the history, ethics, philosophy, what it means to you personally, and what it means in terms of society. I want to develop a complete picture of its message. That means that everything is fair game. You can express any and every thought you have about what we read. Argue over it. Support it. Reject it. Just so long as you don’t ignore it. My thought is that we could tackle the gospel of John first. It gives the story of Jesus, and deals with themes related primarily to Jesus’ claim to be divine. I would like to get started next week, so whoever is interested please let me know. If you are not interested, please let me know as well, so I don’t annoy you with unwanted notes. Once we get the group together, we can talk a little more about details of how it will work. Look forward to hearing from you all…oh and if I missed someone from IKS you think would like this please tell me and I will invite them in.
