Работа для биологов Требования ровно такие: FIELD APPLICATION BIOLOGIST FOR NEXT GENERATION SEQUENCE ANALYSIS Major Responsibilities • Facilitate the successful development and support of our next generation sequencing platform supporting customers with the analysis of experimental results, and the development of analysis tools for specific applications. • Train and educate customers to work with and analyse Next generation sequence data. • Identify the needs for future bioinformatics support and software development and contribute to develop and implement a strategy to fulfil these requirements. • Effective communication with scientists from NGS providers to ensure that our requirements are met. Additional responsibilities • Integration of diverse bioinformatics tools • Application of statistic, visualization and data mining tools; interacting with external collaborators to obtain or provide data • Development of presentations depicting the results of analyses. Skills/Experience required • High degree of technical competence & confidence and ability to interface with the scientific community to the highest levels • The candidate must have excellent communication and organization skills and excellent presentation skills (written and oral). • A sound understanding of the biology behind genotyping, gene expression profiling, and genetic mapping, familiarity with the basis of nucleic acid structure and folding is essential. An appreciation of the use of statistical methods and mathematical models in the interpretation of biological data is highly desirable. • Software and algorithm development skills (e.g. in C/C++/Java/Matlab), familiarity with statistical analysis tools (e.g. R, S-Plus, SAS), database development experience (Oracle, SQL, XML), and a record of publications, are an advantage but not a requirement. Education/Qualifications: • MS/PhD in Computational Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Statistics, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field, and significant directly relevant experience. • Hands-on experience with the relevant sequence analysis tools (e.g. Blast, SW, Primer3, GAP4, etc.), an excellent understanding of genomic databases and their annotations (GenBank, RefSeq, ENSEMBL, dbSNP) • Demonstration of computer skills in a UNIX and Windows NT environment and preferably be proficient with a scripting language (e.g. Perl, BioPerl, Phyton) • Good verbal and written command of the English (technical) language Applications to be sent to Applied Biosystems Russia: AndreeSY@applera.com tel.
