Astolfo is a human character from Jun Mochizuki's The Case Study of Vanitas". When Astolfo was young, he misguidedly trusted a Vampire, leading to the deaths of his parents and younger sister, only to be rescued by Roland Fortis, for which Astolfo comes to resent him. Motivated by this, Astolfo trains to become the youngest of the Paladins among the Chasseurs, with the goal of exterminating all Vampires. When the Beast of Gévaudan appears to rear its head for the first time in over a century, the Chasseurs send Astolfo and Marco with the order to kill any Vampires they come across in the area. This is part of a ploy by Charlatan, relying on Astolfo's reckless behaviour to distract from their true intent. During this time, Astolfo clashes with Noé Archiviste, culminating in Noé's hand being severed, though Astolfo overdoses with the Chasseurs' tonic, which nearly kills him, requiring Roland to collect him in the aftermath.
