BEACH SLAP AUGUST 29 The sunny days may be ending soon. Will this be our Farewell to Summer, or Nature provide another chance? The weather looks good -- currently forecast to be mostly sunny with a high of 28 -- so let's make the most of it. Let's meet at 4 pm near the large church in Obolon. Go to Minska station and head east to the river. At Prospect Geroiev Stalingrada you'll see a large square with a huge Orthodox church. If you arrive late and you don't see people standing there, go on down to the beach. In case you have trouble, phone me or another of the group. My #: 8093 353 6338 WHAT TO BRING: * Yourself, including your consciousness and all useful internal organs * Musical instruments such as guitars, flutes, and percussion * Games, such as cards (remember that it is sometimes windy on the beach, so think of how we'll play) * Sports gear, like balls, racquets, or a volleyball net * Food and drink, like chips, juice, wine, and sandwich stuff * A blanket or something like that to sit on the beach (unless you like sand in your shorts) * Swimming trunks / Swimsuit We'll meet at 6pm, play some games, eat, and play and sing music. Later, if it gets cool, we'll probably head to the usual spot, Teatrion, which is a cozy theater/cafe where you can have coffee, drinks, blinchiki, salaty, and desserts. They often play "Krokodila" there on Saturday nights.
