Волонтерский проект к Дню защиты детей

Location: Horlivka City Hospital #2 Pediatric Department (10 min walk from Institute) Number of children: up to 25 Background: This event is partially funded by the IREX (International Research and Exchanges Board) in the framework of UGRAD (Eurasian Undergraduate Exchange Program) Alumni Steering Committee and also supported by the Educational Program of Australia Postal Corporation. The head of the Pediatric Department expressed interest in providing them with white and blue paint. So, we first organize some English-language activities devoted to postal awareness and then present the Department with paints and brushes. Children will also receive study books and stationary. Dear volunteers, Thank you for taking interest in this project. I am sure that your participation will be an invaluable asset to the implementation of this event. More importantly, your efforts and the time you spent at the Hospital will make many children smile, and what could be more rewarding than that? This event is carries into two stages: Stage 1. A week ago we went to the Hospital and asked what they need right now. It appeared that doctors and nurses often pay out of their pockets buy paints to restore the walls and batteries. This Sunday we will donate paints and brushes to the Department and also buy some presents to kids. Stage 2. (June 21st, 2009) We will have children currently treated at the Hospital aged 7-15. We should have 3-4 student-volunteers to organize events devoted to Post Office Vocabulary with the help of special children books and the DVD provided by the Australian Postal Corporation. General note: please, remember that you will assist and direct children. Help them out with whatever they will have difficulties with or misunderstood. Also, try to keep track of time so that we mamage to do all the activities. Activities proposed will be distributed to voulnteers later. If you want to come, give me a call.
